Latest Annual Report & Program Evaluation

The USC McNair Scholars Program completes a report annually for the university and U.S. Department of Education. The number of offers of admission and degree completion rates increase every year due to the annual tracking we do on all USC Undergraduates that have been affiliated with the program over the last decade. We'll be updating this informaiton in the months ahead. The most recent program results are as follows:

  • In 2010, 6 former USC McNair Scholars were admitted to masters-level programs.
  • In 2010, 5 former USC McNair Scholars were admitted to doctoral-level programs.
  • In 2009, 8 former USC McNair Scholars earned a doctoral-level degree.
  • In 2009, 22 former USC McNair Scholars earned a masters-level degree.
  • Since 1996, approximately 308 USC Undergraduates have participated in the McNair Scholars Program. Currently there are 54 active students participating in the program as undergraduates.
  • Nearly 75% of former USC McNair Scholars have graduate school experiences: they are currently enrolled in graduate-level programs or have acquired a graduate-level degree. To date, approximately 60 participants are currently pursuing some form of postgraduate education. Participants have received 90 masters-level degrees and 38 doctoral-level degrees.
  • Postgraduate disciplines pursued by USC McNair Alumni span from the humanities, social sciences, natural and biological sciences, engineering, computer science to professional fields such as law, business, education, medicine, healthcare, public policy, and social welfare. Master degrees they have acquired include the M.A., M.S., M.Ed., M.B.A., M.S.W., M.P.P., and M.F.T. Doctoral degrees they have earned include the Ph.D., Ed.D., J.D., M.D., Pharm.D., D.P.T., and O.T.D.
  • USC McNair Alumni have continued their postgraduate studies at a wide range of universities across the U.S., including, among others: Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, Cornell, MIT, Duke, Georgetown, USC, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UC Riverside, New York University, City University of New York, University of Chicago, University of Michigan, University of Maryland-College Park, Boston University, Arizona State University, Washington State University, Oregon State University, Colorado State University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Rutgers-State University of New Jersey Camden, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Vermont & State Agricultural College, Loyola Marymount University, Pepperdine University, University of Phoenix, Azusa Pacific University, Chapman University, Temple University, John Hopkins University, DePaul University, Carnegie Mellon University, Western University of Health Sciences, and Mount St. Mary's College.
